Minting Options on the OptionFlow Testnet

A Step-by-step guide on how to mint call and put options on the optionflow testnet.

Step 1: Make a Testnet Wallet

We will create an Eternl wallet for this example.

Download Eternl Chrome Extension Here.

Once you download the wallet extension and open it up, it should look like this ⬇️ ⬇️

Eternl Cardano Light Wallet

• Click on the purple button at the lower right corner of the app and choose the Pre-Pred network before creating the new wallet.

Pre-Production Testnet

• Click on the Create Wallet button at the center of the app

• Complete the wallet creation process, use best practices, and do not share your wallet passphrase with anyone.

• Once you've completed the wallet creation process, find your receiving address by clicking on the "Receive" Button within the wallet menu tabs.

Click the receive button to see your receiving address

• Click on the Copy icon to the right of your receiving address to copy your receiving address to your clipboard.

Step 2: Get Testnet ADA or (tADA)

Head over to the https://docs.cardano.org/cardano-testnet/tools/faucet/

Choose the Pre-Production Testnet

• Paste your receiving address into the Testnet "Address" input box,click the capthca ✅ then click the REQUEST FUNDS button.

Check the captcha box and click REQUEST FUNDS button

• You should receive your tADA within a few seconds to a few minutes. As soon as you receive your tAda you can request some testnet tokens to write call and put options.

Step 3: Request OptionFlow Testnet tOPT, tMILK and tUSD for testing

• Make sure to select pre-prod as your network and send at least 5 tADA to the following address: addr_test1vz0kjerswem0tn0ha5qmys6f0h0qzdz4gdhwwl6pj0kkrysjwyawt

Send at least 5 tADA to the address provided to get your testnet tOPT, tMILK, tUSD.

• You will receive tOPT, tMILK, and tUSD for testing within a minute or two.

You will receive your tesnet tokens in your wallet

• Once you receive your testnet tokens, you're ready to mint options on the testnet.

• Click on the connector icon on the right-hand side of your wallet to make and make sure the icon is green before connecting to the OptionFlow testnet.

Step 4: Mint Options on the OptionFlow Testnet

• Got To https://testnet.optionflow.finance/minting

• Connect your Eternl wallet with the included tADA, tOPT, tMILK, and tUSD to the OptionFlow testnet dapp by clicking the connect wallet button on the upper right corner.

Example 1: Mint 1 January 2024 tMILK Call w/ Strike Price @ 10.012 tADA

• Let's mint a January 2024 tMILK Call option with a strike price at 10.012 tADA

  • Choose your Token

  • Choose your Option Expiration date

  • Choose your Strike Price

  • Choose the Number of Options you want to mint

  • Click the Create Option Button & Sign

Choose Token, Call Exipry Date, Call Strike Price, and number of call options to mint

Example 2: Mint 7 May 2024 Puts w/ Strike Price @ 10.012 tADA

Let's mint 7 May 2024 Put options with a strike price at 10.012 tADA

• Choose your Token

• Choose your Option Expiration date

• Choose your Strike Price

• Choose the Number of Options you want to mint

• Click the Create Option Button & Sign

Choose Token, Put Exipry Date, Put Strike Price, and number of put options to mint
